Looks: These appear as either gold, platinum or silver quills along with a vial of ink. The vial is normally made of finally cut glass.

Effects: When used by any individual who is versed in the arcane arts; mages, illusionists, herbalists, shaman, etc., that person may write his or her words upon the very air and order the message to go where ever the mage desires within 1000 miles. The message will arrive without damage and upon the air. However, its maximum speed of travel through the air is 25 miles a day. Each vial carries enough ink for approximately 1,000 words.

History: The origin of this item is unknown, but it is first mentioned in history as being used by the Mages of the Circle of Light. There are several alchemists who spend there time exclusively making these items, and as such, as many as 25 quills and 200 vials of ink are made every year. Still, it is a relatively expensive item and, unless one has the right connections, they may be very hard to obtain.
