Belt of Banthor
Value: 40,000GS
Looks: Appears as a thick brown leather belt with multiple hoops of varying sizes and runes etched throughout it in diamond and emerald dust/ Effects: This belt has been called a mages best friend. It acts as a wand and staff storage belt upon the mage's waist. When a wand, staff or rod is placed within one of the hoops, it will become smaller (without harming the magic item in any way) instantly until it is but 3 inches in length for wands, 4 inches for rods, and 5 inches for a staff. When the mage pulls it back out it will regain its true size without delay. Further, the mage has but to think of which item he wishes and that spot on his belt will tingle so as to avoid pulling out the wrong item. The belt will hold up to 10 wands, 6 rods, AND 5 staves. Finally, any unauthorized person touching an item on the belt or the belt itself, especially pick pocketing thieves, is paralyzed. Even if the thief makes his or her saving throw, the item cannot be removed without the mage himself saying the command word.. History: Banthor was a mage who lived about 800 years ago and truly hated and despised thieves. He was also a bit of a sentimentalist and insisted on living in his old poverty stricken neighborhood of Melkalund even after he "made it big." After about the 6th time he had an item pick pocketed from him, he created this belt. Well once the other mages saw it they all wanted it. Banthor went on to make 6 more of these belts and quite a fortune in the process. Where these belts are now is a mystery, however, rumor has it that the mage Lament may have wear one of them. |
