Cutter's Shield
Value: 20,000 GS
Looks: Normally regular man-sized shield made of enchanted
steel, but can vary. Deeply embedded in the middle of the shield is
a largish white crystal. The crystal is almost unshatterable.
Effects: This shield is normally a +1 or +2 shield. However when in fog, thick gas or a cloudbank, a strong light beam will emanate from the crystal in the middle of the shield allowing the wielder to see in the fog, cloud, etc as clearly as day. However this daylight sight is only effective within the beam. The beam's dimensions are 60 ft x shield size. History: Cutter is a dwarven smith mage who lives in a rocky craggy near the coast. After several hundred years of almost falling into the ocean due to the pea soup thick fog, Cutter came up with the idea of creating these items. He has created 10 or so of these fine items, most of which he sold for a pretty penny. It is said that he still is up in those mountains working on a way to make some Armor of fog as well. He keeps complaining that every time he gets some fool warrior to try it, they get so excited that they fall off a cliff and the water is just too damned deep to go fish them out. |
