Could you name people you have gamed with over the years?

I was thinking about it the other day and started a list but realized I had gamed with more people than I ever thought.

Indeed I can recall most of the people I actually gamed with. By which I mean people I have actively campaigned with over time, not the folks who sat in for a session or two and never came back. I can still recall my original group from 1983, sitting around a dining room table playing V&V and B/X. I can even recall where each of us sat.

Althtough I sadly never got to sling dice with any of the greats like Hargrave, Arneson or Gygax, I did take part in a long-term campaign when I was in high school along with a kid called Brian who grew up to be Marilyn Manson. (Insert your own Jack Chick joke here.)

Knowing someone like that is the stuff of stories for life.

I paid homage to the ones who sit at my table by weaving them into anything I write, either in personality or directly into the game, module or whatever.

What kind of things do you do to remember them by?

Strange that I can remember the majority of my players from better part of +30 ago, better still that I still have the opportunity to play with Starlock..hehe, old buzzard Smile

There has always been a nostalgic "I remember when" that generally gives way with more occurances that haven't been matched as of yet. Now and again I have remembered the dreaded "Hell" campaign that lasted near a summer and that occured some 20 years ago.
Even back then the group that I played with were inventive, creating more complexities within the game to make so much more than others could even imagine, but not us.
It was a good group that Starlock and I grew up with playing, entertaining at the very least, inspiring in all ways that counted, and as close to a brotherhood as can be back in them there days.
